Google Tag Manager (GTM) is Google's tag management system, used to add and update tracking scripts on a website without editing code directly. With Accelevents, you install your GTM container once on your event website, then manage every tag (analytics, ad pixels, custom scripts) from inside Google Tag Manager itself.
Your GTM container script is added to a single Header Script field under Event Design > Event Website > Settings. Once saved, GTM fires on every page load of your event website, and any tags configured inside your GTM container run automatically, with no further setup needed on the Accelevents side.
Current limitation: Accelevents does not currently push conversion data, such as completed ticket purchases, back to trigger GTM or Google Ads conversion events automatically. Conversion tracking configured in GTM depends on your own setup and available signals, not a feed from Accelevents.
It lets you install your GTM container on your Accelevents event website with a single script field. Once installed, any tag you configure inside Google Tag Manager (analytics, ad pixels, custom scripts) runs on your event pages without further changes in Accelevents.
The Google Analytics integration installs a GA4 tag directly for standard site and ticket widget tracking. Google Tag Manager is a broader container that can deploy GA4, ad pixels, and other scripts together, managed from GTM instead of Accelevents. Most teams use one or the other to avoid firing duplicate analytics events.
In your event, go to Event Design > Event Website > Settings, and paste your GTM container script into the Header Script field.
You can configure conversion tags inside GTM, but Accelevents does not currently push purchase or registration data back automatically to trigger them. Conversion tracking depends on your own GTM and Google Ads setup.
No. The current integration uses a single Header Script field. There is no separate body-tag field in Accelevents for GTM.
Yes, but most teams choose one method rather than running both, since installing GA4 directly and also through GTM can result in duplicate analytics events being recorded.
