Two constraints worth knowing: Simple Registration issues one ticket per registration, and it is not built to combine with the more detailed registration features.
In Accelevents, yes. Stripe is the main processor, and Square, Braintree, Authorize.net, NMI, Payflow Pro, TouchNet and CyberSource are also supported, with availability depending on your plan. Funds transfer into your account within 48 hours of each transaction rather than being held until after the event. Klarna and iDEAL can be enabled through Stripe, and cash, check, invoicing and deposit options run in the same flow.
You turn the waitlist on and choose whether it triggers when a ticket type sells out or when the whole event reaches capacity. It is a setting you enable rather than automatic behaviour. Registrants then see a Join Waitlist button in place of the sold-out label, and you release them to claim a spot once more tickets open. Tickets can also be transferred to another guest or exchanged for a different type.
